P&G’s 2Q Profit Up 22%, Led by Beauty-Care Sales

The Procter & Gamble Co.’s fiscal second quarter profit jumped 22%, thanks to lower manufacturing costs and a 50% surge in sales at its beauty care business, according to executives.P&G also reported net income of $1.82 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 31, up from $1.49 billion last year, which included $98 million in restructuring charges.
